When I talk to people about my carvings the one question I am always asked is,
"How did you get into wood carving?"
"Well, I owned a tree and stump removal service, I had a lot of wood that was piled up all around my house and I decided to try my hand at making things with the excess that I didn't sell, also my landlord told me I had to do something with the piles in my yard.
So, there you have it, how I started carving wood.
I bought a router, a dremel, then I got a sander and the list goes on...
I decided that I didn't like making furniture and I started on smaller projects,
things that sparked my creativity;
I started putting designs on slabs of wood, trying my hand at anything that struck my inspiration.
I have carved light relief, portraits, deep relief and in the round. I have engraved metal and glass and do enjoy them both, but wood is still my favorite.
I hope you enjoy looking at my carvings from the last 15 years.
You can check out my social media for new items and videos.
Fun Fact: I still have the same router and sander.
